Last Looks: Yesterday’s Runway at Versace

Versace Fall 2016 Milan Fashion Week

Donatella Versace sent out a brigade of commanding top models donned in her seasonal interpretations of a strong female figure.

The show was about empowerment (think of Gigi’s now viral slip as an anti-censorship stance) with a mod military twist and a hint of sport. Big hitters like Natasha Poly, Imaan Hammam, Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss led the pack of model elites dressed in strongly tailored wools, structured neoprenes and brightly-hued graphics. Versace’s new take on sensuality encompassed it all, from daywear’s taught suits, to evening wear’s slinky minis and colorful furs. Loud prints stole the show, ranging from baroque floral pastels to a collage of broken neon graphics on sequined super minis, asymmetrical frocks and chic athletic suits.
