Gimlet-eyed Kristin Yamada is busy snapping street-style starlets during Fashion Week. Here are her photos to inspire you for next season (or this one), and some wardrobe picks to help you get the look.
Aimee Song (Song of Style) is such a doll; I can’t even handle it! She’s always dressed to perfection. Shearling is giving fur a run for it’s money in the coat department and this particular number is magnific. Together with her bandana neckerchief and elongated fringe saddle bag, this look has a modern western/naturalist vibe. A sleek mesh shirt, denim flares and snake skin booties also keep her feeling totally urban and cool at the same time. Aimee, you’re just too good!

Jenny Walton (Markers and Microns) is one of my favorite street style stars. Not only is Jenny a fashion week darling, but she is also an illustrator with mad skills and, I have to say, the absolute sweetest. Her look usually has a distinct vintage nod to it. This fur-collared coat is a fantastic statement piece that showcases how beautiful rich browns are when paired with black. And I always dig how eclectically she accessorizes. Today it’s brooches pinned at her neckline and a casual knit beanie. Thanks for the inspiration Jenny!

Our very own Chelsea 28 collaborator and blogger Olivia Palermo was out on the street today with bud, and fashion editor of her blog, Nausheen Shah (A Shah’s Life). Together they remind just how great a heeled bootie is this time of year and that a little fur goes a long way. I love that Olivia is layered up with a thick turtleneck and easy denim. Likewise, Nausheen’s geo pattern coat marries wonderfully with her contrast-striped trouser. Great to see you gals!

Eva Chen is every bit as much a force on the streets now as Instagram Head of Fashion Partnerships as she was when Lucky Mag’s Editor in Chief. Grey is trending strong this season and is always great when paired back to black for a monochrome look. I love that she is not only adorable, but also stylishly practical keeping warm this chilly morning with fur, fur and more fur! Don’t get me started on how bad I want that personalized, monogram clutch. Thanks Eva!

Blogger Lainy Hedaya (Haute Inhabit) doesn’t seem phased by the weather one bit. Here on home turf, she’s got keeping warm and staying chic down. A double-breasted jacket and quilted bag feel super classic, while relaxed leather pants are standout in the sea of denim. Patched fur pockets add texture and you, again, can’t go wrong with a standby turtleneck and pair black booties. Well done Lainy!

Best friend duos don’t come any cooler or more fun than Caroline Vreeland and Shea Marie (Peace Love Shea). These two are tied at the hip and always look incredible together. Today they are edgy and dark with Caroline channeling a little more grunge while Shea is a bit more rock ‘n’ roll. I’m feeling Caroline’s mesh dress and Shea’s graphic sweatshirt and blazer combo. Coordinated pops of blue add unexpected color and their matching textural socks are right on trend. Excited to see much, much more of these two this season!
