Gimlet-eyed Kristin Yamada is busy snapping street-style starlets during Fashion Week. Here are her photos to inspire you for next season (or this one), and some wardrobe picks to help you get the look.
I had to snag a quick pic of illustrator Jenny Walton (Markers and Microns) outside Jil Sander before she ducked into a nearby café. As always, she is effortlessly adorable. The sweater worn as a scarf is a huge styling trend this season. While they have often been folded and wrapped around the neck neatly by the sleeves, Jenny is full on rocking her sweater over the head and letting it drape more organically. I love the rich pattern or her wide leg pants. Paired with the vintage look of her leather tote and textural coat, Jenny’s got the wonderfully eclectic vibe of a well-traveled global nomad.

Checks continue to be a major theme on the streets of Milan. München based blogger Nina Schwichtenberg (Fashiion Carpet) has tapped the trend with a stellar all-over pattern coat. Her neutral separates are classy chic and really let her checks shine. Over the knee boots are also popular this month. A clean, tailored bag completes the look.

Brazillian blogger Martina Ritter (Martina Ritter Blog) is hitting all the right trends. Lace is super popular and this blouse also checks the boxes for high necks and voluminous sleeves. Crop length pants continue to reign supreme and Martina’s wrap-front hybrid pair are too cool. Suede is in demand on the footwear scene and metallics are again on the rise. Thanks, Martina, for keeping us on our trend watching toes!

Kate Foley looks incredibly ladylike even when she’s borrowing a little influence from the boys. She makes black and white anything but boring. I love her oxford inspired wedges paired with the check dress. The curvilinear lines of her coat are super cool and feminine with a bit of a 60’s vibe. A bold red lip and box bag are she needs to make this look pop. Thanks Kate!
