As winter draws to a close, the time has come to make some critical updates to your handbag collection. Luckily, the street styles of Fashion Week have left us with plenty of inspiration. For spring, we’re drawn to the bags that make a statement—aesthetically, culturally, satirically and literally—and lots of Gucci. Below, our top 10 styles from the streets of New York, London, Milan and Paris to help you transition your accessories wardrobe.

This Paco Rabanne tote puts a geometric twist on last season’s hobo bag. We love the two-tone, houndstooth patchwork effect, which gives the bucket-style bag a more contemporary feel. It’s large enough to fit all your day-to-day essentials (and then some), neatly tied up with a drawstring closure.

Loewe’s Puzzle bag is a favorite among street stylers—and we can’t deny how darling the leather bag looks in springy pastels—but the whimsical heart crossbody is the item that captured our attention in New York. Its size makes it the perfect city bag and inside, an electric blue calfskin interior will brighten your day.

Imitation pearls and a delicate scalloped edge are the feminine details that make this Fendi bag unique among the others in your handbag collection. It embodies the charming disposition that the brand is known for, and makes fashion feel less serious.

A miniature version of Phillip Lim’s Alix, this bag takes the office supplies–inspired hardware of the original to bold new levels. The paper clip–like closure looks edgy against fiery red and even more so thanks to the black lace-up top handle.

Christopher Bailey bid farewell to Burberry with his most heartfelt collection to date. Featuring rainbows symbolic of gay pride throughout the F/W 2018 line—most notably, within the signature Burberry check—this was an obvious favorite on the streets of London, but it is our favorite because of its powerful and inclusive messaging.

Reminiscent of your favorite farmers’ market tote, Balenciaga’s lambskin-and-leather shopper represents the perfect harmony of luxury and kitsch. Printed with landmarks from Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo, the Bazaar bag was one of the most popular among the fashion pack, second only to the label’s City Graffiti tote.

Traditional design, impeccable quality and luxury materials are all hallmarks of the Prada fashion house, and all are characteristics of this exquisitely constructed shoulder bag. Inspired by the design of a diary, this calfskin bag looks almost like a book hanging from your arm, stylishly holding your secrets within its pocketed interior.

Some fashion statements declare themselves, as is the case with Off-White’s Virgil Was Here bag, which claims “FOR DISPLAY ONLY.” From the same line that brought us our favorite boots of last fall (made “FOR WALKING”), this satirical handbag—complete with a logo-etched binder clip closure—is a breath of fresh air off the runway.

Update your little black bag to something a little more shapely. Alexander McQueen’s leather box purse is highly versatile—the interior compartments and roomy design make it perfect for day to day, but the sleek silhouette and detachable crossbody strap transform it into an elegant evening bag.

Mulberry’s trio-flap clutch may be small, but it is mighty indeed. Honoring the label’s British heritage, this tiered bag features several practical pockets and card slots, with stunning craftsmanship and beautiful, traditional design.
