Our street-style photographer Crystal Nicodemus on the ladies whose looks commanded her lens.
Paris Fashion Week was a maelstrom of stand-out fashion and chaotic venues with the city as a stunning backdrop to classic styles. Trench coats and menswear-inspired suiting were among the top themes. Texture continued to command with lots of corduroy, shearling, velvet and silks. Patterns tended to be more masculine than we’ve seen as of late: more plaid than floral, more stripes than animal. The palette was also a bit more subdued than we saw in New York; tans and browns abounded with pops of red and yellow to keep things bold.
It’s been an absolute pleasure sharing this journey with you all. I hope you’ve enjoyed peeking in on the wildest month of the fashion calendar. Merci, mes amis!
Ada Kokosar
My favorite street style maven slays the scene yet again. Ada’s turtleneck sweater is a fall staple and it adds some neutral balance to her busy look. The ’70s-inspired, striped set has got my name all over it. J’adore!
Vanessa Hong
Trust Vanessa to represent the NYC aesthetic even while wearing Parisian designers. The black-tan combo of this conceptual coat is so intriguing and contemporary, especially when paired with crisp white heels. The premium hip bag is seriously popular this season and Vanessa’s iteration is perfect for fall.
Nausheen Shah
Nausheen always looks on point, of course, but I especially love this sleek, leather set. The palette is absolutely on trend for fall, and Nausheen’s monochrome styling amps up the cool factor even further.
Peju Famojure
Peju is a tall woman after my own heart. Corduroy is tres popular and these cropped flares are a great way to integrate the textural fabric into your wardrobe. The unexpected addition of a spacey silver trench adds interesting contrast. Another big-ticket item? The premium logo tee. This Loewe number ties the look together.
Rajni Jacques
I’m a big fan of Rajni. She always looks cool, but never overdone. The blazer is a hit this season. I definitely want this pinstripe version. Statement earrings are another must-have and Rajni’s mix-n-match set are gorgeous.
Aimee Song
Aimee is rocking this retro, west coast style. I am obsessed with shearling and I need this fluffy zip-up like, yesterday. Frayed, flared and cropped, her denim hits all the right notes. Modern aviators give a nod to the ’70s, but still feel fresh and chic.
Courtney Trop
Courtney is the perfect Chloé girl in her Parisienne ensemble. Her outdoorsy plaid coat is to die for and adds a boyish charm to her schoolgirl styling. The Chloé Pixie bag is uber popular, especially in this autumnal, oxblood hue. Skinny cat-eye sunnies are another leading accessory trend and these Gucci frames are calling to me.
Giovanna Engelbert
Giovanna always looks perfectly put together. While she usually rocks more feminine styling, this punky-prep, mixed pattern outfit is super cute. Could Gio be heralding the return of the creeper? Here’s hoping!
Camille Charriere
I love a woman in a suit and I love Camille’s style, so this is a double whammy! While camel isn’t usually my go-to color, it looks chic as can be on Camille. The pumpkin-toned turtleneck and minimal accessories let the suit shine.
Charlotte Groeneveld
Conceptual fashion pieces always get my attention. I appreciate when people take a bold leap into a new cut or style. Charlotte’s cut-out skirt is so unusual, but totally breathtaking—I’m jealous that it’s not mine! Her lace, button-up bodysuit adds some sweet, Victorian-era flavor to her modern skirt and boots.
Eugenie Skvarska
The trench is the must-have coat of the season and it has been especially popular in Paris. It’s refreshing to see some new takes on the classic style and Eugenie’s textural, mustard topper is absolutely gorgeous. The peekaboo of her green silk skirt adds to the rich palette perfectly.
Holly Russell
With every passing day of Fashion Week, another suit appeared to make me fall head over heels. In this case, it’s Holly’s bold Gucci version. The white tee and sneakers add a sporty element to the simple outfit and make Holly look seriously rad.
Just try to keep up with all of our Fashion Week coverage.
