Let’s call it a cultural exchange.

On October 16, icon of all footwear icons—Christian Louboutinis coming to Nordstrom’s downtown Seattle flagship headquarters; from there we’ll spend the next five days showing him around the Northwest, including a trip to Vancouver B.C. (And yes, we’ll definitely bring you more on all this in the days to come.)

Needless to say, we’re more than a little excited for the visit—his first to our neck of the woods—but since we’re currently camped out in his city, we asked him to give us a short list of personal must-hit Paris spots.

First things first, literally: the original Christian Louboutin boutique at 19 Rue Jean-Jacque Rousseau.

Next up, a different kind of shopping stop; Mr. Louboutin loves Deyrolle, a very singular flora and fauna emporium.

He also loves the art and theater of traditional circuses, vaudeville, burlesque the like, and the Musee des Arts Forains
is one of his favorite places to hang out with unusual objects in a unique space.

Mr. Louboutin, like all good Parisian hosts, will insist that you take a walk through the Tuileries Gardens—and for dinner afterwards
he suggests Les Jalles. It’s his favorite restaurant in all of Paris.

Now here’s what we’d call an insider tip: should you find that your own footwear needs reinforcement or repair, Mr. Louboutin would take you visit his trusted friends at Minuit Moins 7 Shoe Repair. Great cobblers are worth their weight in red lacquered gold—right? Especially considering this last recommendation, a trip to Paris is probably seeming pretty essential.
