We can’t think of any designer who is more known for sheer romanticism than Vera Wang. Her spring/summer ’15 collection was the exact representation of that—from fashion to makeup and nails.
Cle de Peau makeup was used to create a fairy-like, ethereal woman who you might find in the woods. “She’s got a bit of a dark edge,” said Lucia Peroni, the visionary behind the look. Pale, desaturated skin was achieved using a new sheer, matte powder foundation (out in March 2015).
This was the perfect backdrop for a prune-purple smokey eye, which Peroni described as a ‘moody color that fades out’. Intensity of color was concentrated on the lash-line, blended up and out over the eye. A sheer nude lip balanced the strength of the eye, and a bit of luminizer was applied to the cheekbones and nose for subtle glow.
One of our backstage favorites was seeing Jin Soon. For the nails, she was inspired by the layers and patterns of the fabrics. Wang wanted the manicure to simply have a ‘high gloss, shiny finish’. Soon used one coat of Tulle (Muse would work nicely) and one coat of her quick dry top coat for an elegant, natural nail look.
