Trend Recap: Top 10 Trends at London Fashion Week

1. Sheer Delight

As with NYFW, there is a lot of sheer and translucent layers—from pretty dresses to inserted panels.

2. Dark Romance

An enchanted, slightly Victorian gothic look showed up in several collections with a moody palette of fall-like colors.

3. 3-D Embellishment

We mentioned the dressed-up nature of the British collections—epitomized with wonderful new appliqué and by adding dimension to décor.

4. Color Cuts

A new take on blocking features: organic shapes or spliced panels create a collage of color.

5. Shine On

As seen in NYFW, we’re heading toward a ‘shiny’ new Spring.

6. New Nautical

A classic navy and cream theme gets revived with flashes of red and some bold new ‘rope’ detailing. Ship ahoy!

7. New Denim Jacket

The latest iconic jacket to be revived. Look for versions in new fabrications and colors as well as the classic indigo.

8. Lace Ups

The newest in footwear wraps the leg with feminine and seductive lacing.

9. Printed Bag

As in NYC, matching bag patterns stood out—as well as fun novelties.

10. The Mismatched Ear

From the street to runway, we’re seeing the considered choice of a single statement earring paired with a simpler option.
