Each June, the global fashion community comes together to celebrate the sterling talents of American fashion at the CFDA Awards. The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, founded in 1981, is considered the highest honor bestowed to designers, journalists and icons in the industry.

Winner, Womenswear and Menswear Designer of the Year
Raf Simons landed at Calvin Klein in 2016, and he showed his first collection for the beloved American label at New York Fashion Week this past February. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler
Nominee, Womenswear Designer of the Year
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez met while studying at Parsons School of Design, and they’ve been on fire ever since. The design duo has won five [Note: replace with “six” if they win this year] CFDA awards to date, and their collections, which emphasize tailoring and draw from contemporary art and youth culture, are industry highlights (and red carpet favorites) year after year.

Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga and Vetements
Honoree, International Award
Demna Gvasalia is making a splash at Balenciaga. With his bold use of color and daring proportions, he’s been credited as revolutionizing the brand. Gvasalia’s success doesn’t stop there. He also turns out obsession-worthy pieces for Vetements, his own streetwear label that has a loyal celeb following.
