Nashville Nordstrom, Country Music’s Most Stylish Couple and Stella McCartney’s Spring Collection

On Wednesday, January 28, an intimate circle of Stella McCartney fans gathered at Nordstrom Nashville to get a sneak preview of the coming season—and to claim first dibs.

Caroline Bryan, who happens to be country singer Luke Bryan’s wife as well as one of Nashville’s leading ladies, hosted the affair, channeling benefits to YMCA of Middle Texas after-school youth programs.

Key players from the Stella McCartney team were there to walk guests through the new pieces. But since we weren’t, we spoke with designer buyer Sahar Sokhandan about the spring collection and about exclusive in-store events like this one.

The Thread: What do you remember about seeing the spring collection for the first time on the runway?

Sokhandan: The pieces were fashion-forward but functional—it was all about effortless dressing. The collection is full of sexy, understated elegance.

How do you think Nordstrom shoppers and Stella fans will respond?

I think they’ll fall in love with them from the moment they see them and the moment they touch and feel the pieces against their skin. Stella is the perfect collection for the fashionable woman who isn’t fussy and needs both functionality and ease in her clothing.

As a buyer you’re able to talk with designers such as McCartney and her director of sales, Andrew Dershaw, and others. What’s the benefit of shoppers getting this personal face time?

The collection is absolutely stunning, but having that insight and knowledge behind the inspiration will make for a lasting impression.
