Welcome to Fashion Bytes, a cheat sheet for your favorite runway designers. From style inspirations to behind-the-scenes scoops, here’s everything worth knowing at New York Fashion Week Spring 2018.

The brand: Cinq à Sept

The history: “Our label’s based in New York, but I saw the phrase in a French Vogue article,” says designer Jane Siskin. “It means, 5 to 7 pm, and it references that time of day that’s full of possibility.” They launched with crave-worthy dresses and wide-leg pants in 2015 and quickly became a must-have for street style stars.

The designer: Siskin helped launch 7 for All Mankind, then worked with Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen at Elizabeth and James before creating her own line.

The show: “It’s based on a dream,” Siskin explained. “A carnival rolled up to a sleepy village and made everything magical.” Acrobats and ballerinas performed in between the models, who posed on a hotel rooftop in feathered skirts, embroidered tees, and lace ruffled pants paired with pristine white cowboy boots. (The new white sneaker?)

The F-row: This is a brand for Instagram royalty, and the follower count here was high. Olivia Culpo and Devon Windsor swept through with a camera crew in tow, while style blog stars Danielle Bernstein, Nicolette Mason, and Camila Coelho checked out the clothes.

The verdict: From moon-print slip dresses to fitted denim and gauzy maxi-skirts, this show wasn’t just a dreamscape… it was a dreamy wardrobe update, too.
