Although you never need a reason to celebrate, you were just given the best one: your friend is getting married! Once the squeals, hugs, tears and proposal story conclude, the bridal shower planning begins. To help steer it in the happiest direction, we’ve collected cheery recipes, fun favors and pretty place settings to make your newly affianced pal’s party a success.
Riedel vintage fine crystal champagne glasses
Greet your girls with a glass of champagne and a mega candy bracelet from Dylan’s Candy Bar (available in selected Nordstrom stores). A little sugar on the wrist and in the glass sets a sweet mood.
Champagne-themed flutes express your sentiments exactly. This is a fête of your friendship just as much as it is a celebration of the upcoming nuptials. These glasses from Rosanna playfully start the conversation. Set the table with them along with gourmet candy bars—such an inviting call to mingle.
Lolli and Pops bars come in flavors like Gimme S’more, Red Velvet and Jalapeño Peanut, so there’s something for every palate.

Thirstystone Canyon salad bowl
For the meal, serve our popular Chinese Chicken Salad. At our store cafes, this leafy mix of julienned vegetables, crunchy wontons, tender chicken and juicy mandarin oranges thrills the tastebuds but is light enough to leave room for snacks, desserts, more snacks and desserts…
…like our delicious Lemon Ricotta Cookies. These scrumptious citrus goodies are a sunny delight—and so pretty.
Thirstystone copper cheese knives | Thirstystone paddle cheese board
Keep snacks on hand to pace the day. An elegant cheese board with fruits will fuel guests for the duration of the party. Especially as the cocktails and wine continue to pour, you want everyone to be able to gauge their intake.
In addition to champagne, create several cocktails for variety. Here are two of our favorites that use bubbly as a base.
Platinum Gem
Dash of fresh lemon juice
1 maraschino cherry
1 ounce Lillet Blanc
4-5 ounces champagne
Squeeze a drop or two of fresh lemon juice into the champagne glass. Drop in the maraschino cherry. Add chilled Lillet Blanc to the glass then top with the champagne.
Le Pamplemousse
1/2 ounce St. Germain
1 ounce grapefruit liqueur
Dash of fresh lime juice
4 ounces of champagne
In a champagne glass, pour St. Germain and grapefruit liqueur. Top with chilled champagne. Add lime juice to taste.
