We chatted with Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede to get the deets on Good American’s new curve-conscious bodysuit line, Good Body. Turns out, these versatile, game-changing bodysuits fit and flatter women in a wide range of sizes—from 0 to 20.
Why create a new line of bodysuits?
Khloé Kardashian: We wanted to create a line of timeless pieces, so for us, that meant bodysuits. Bodysuits and denim are exactly the types of garments that can be worn time and time again—and always look sexy.
Emma Grede: This idea came quite naturally to us. This is our version of “jeans and a T-shirt,” and we wanted to add something sexy to wear with a good pair of denim.
When it comes to bodysuits, how does Good American stand out? Tell us about the contouring and fabrication details.
EG: Good American is all about empowering women, and this translates into every aspect of the collection. Contouring seams and compression fabric in the Good Body collection enhance the curves you have instead of hiding them—and they make you feel supported. Plus, these features also give the illusion of that hourglass figure every girl is looking for.
KK: When you put on one of our bodysuits, we want you to feel confident. The contouring is great for making your tummy feel tucked, and the fabrics have the most breathable, really nonrestrictive feeling.
Can you tell us more about the various fits and styles?
EG: We played with different materials like mesh and compression fabric to create both fashion pieces and basics to work with any outfit. All the styles are very transitional.
KK: What I love about the collection is that there is so much variety. We have classic styles like the Compression Tank, a V-neck style like the Low-Down and sexier options like the Wild One. The best part is that all of our silhouettes come in three different butt styles. There’s the “full coverage,” the cheeky-style “date night” and the “thong.” You really can’t go wrong!
How can every woman incorporate Good Body bodysuits into her wardrobe?
EG: Women can wear these for almost any occasion and feel confident. Basic styles can easily be dressed up with a pair of trousers, or for a more casual look, you can pair a fashion piece with denim. It’s an effortless way to add a little twist to your outfit.
Tell us about your personal favorite, why you love it and how you would wear it.
EG: My personal favorite is the Wild One. I love the play with animal mesh, and the contouring seams are super flattering. You can literally wear this with anything! I like to wear it with a pair of high-waist black jeans and heels.
KK: My favorite style is the Cold Shoulder. I’m a huge fan of the ultra-high-rise cut and mesh pattern, because I like showing a little bit of skin. This is a great bodysuit to wear for a night out with the girls. Even though it’s mesh, it’s still made with compression fabric and is fitted to sculpt the body.
Do you see societal beauty ideals continuing to change?
KK: Absolutely. It’s refreshing to see the fashion industry starting to turn a corner when it comes to the “perfect” body size. At Good American, our goal is to make every woman, no matter her shape or size, feel empowered and confident when she wears our clothes.
