Hold on to your hats, Nashville: On Thursday, October 20, Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig will be live and in-store for a very special trunk show and fashion event featuring an intimate look at the resort ’17 collection, as well as an exclusive preview and pre-sale of spring’s romantic and darkly gorgeous moods.

Not planning to be in Tennessee this week? Let this post serve as your next best thing. Georgina and Keren (pictured above) gave us some personal insight on the feathers and sequins in their current-season collection and their trip to Music City.

Will this be your first time to Nashville or is it a return trip? And either way, what will you do to get the most out of your time there?
We have been to Nashville a few times now. The Nashville woman loves to dress up, which makes her the perfect Marchesa woman. We couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to interact with our customers and discuss their thoughts on our new collection. And whenever we’re in Nashville, we love going to local vintage stores and finding great inspiration pieces.
What three words sum up the essence of your resort collection?
Glamorous, dramatic, daring.
What were you inspired by while designing it?
We took inspiration from the 1970s Las Vegas glamour in Martin Scorsese’s movie Casino. The film inspired us to incorporate ultra-glamorous details like feathers, sequins, beads and jewels into the collection.
How would you love to see all that opulence and texture out in the world this season?
We are always excited to see how different women wear our designs, and it will always be such an honor for us to see a woman in Marchesa. We love the idea of a dress that can be worn for multiple occasions—whether dressed up for a special event such as a holiday party, or dressed down for a night out with friends.

Join Georgina and Keren for a seated runway presentation on Thursday, October 20, between noon and 3pm, or pop in any time between 10am and 8pm for the trunk show, where you can preview the entire collection and pre-order your favorite styles. The trunk show returns on Friday, October 21, from 10am to 8pm.
