Get the Look: Street Style at ACNE and Celiné

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2017 is in full effect, and the style in the French fashion hub is fantastique! Here are some of our favorite (shoppable!) looks from PFW so far—captured by our gimlet-eyed street-style reporter Kristin Yamada—that we plan on emulating posthaste. And here’s how we’ll do it.

This velvet and satin slipdress cuts a sinuous shape. With a knit shirt and some booties, fashion writer Camille Charriere shows how to wear the sexy silhouette for fall. (Is there anything layering can’t solve?) Her tonal scheme also offers a shining example of how texture and sheen can amplify monochrome dressing.

Fashion buyer Tracey Cheng put together deconstructed pieces for a polished but punky outfit. Her distressed denim skirt and argyle sweater give an undone quality to traditionally preppy pieces. To further the contrast, Cheng wears them with such ladylike swagger–and bold accessories–as to make her feminine separates fierce.

Lots of leather looks lovely on blogger Aimee Song of Song of Style. The pointy-toe wedge bootie may be the shoe of this fashion season–we’ve seen it studded, colored and in exotic leathers. It provides just the right lift with a mini skirt and an element of toughness with its severe angles. On Aimee, the booties sharpen her soft, buttery combo to cut some rocker chic style.

With her sky-blue shirt, Yoyo Cao’s velvet pants must be like wearing sunshine. Oversized proportions and a nipped waist add an adorable ’30s influence to this otherwise very contemporary look. Velvet is big this fall, and these trousers brilliantly use the fabric to get big cheers, and smiles.
