Anthony Vaccarello‘s collections belong to the night, so as the dusky blue-black dawn began to settle around a windowed room facing the Eiffel Tower, we knew it must be showtime. That, and the fact that muse and friend Anja Rubik was taking her seat along with other long-limbed icons like Caroline de Maigret and Leigh Lezark. Oh, and Lucky Blue.
As the first party skirts and leather dresses took the floor, it was clear that their legs—and yours—aren’t going to be let down for Fall 2016.
It’s hard to imagine a Vaccarello collection that doesn’t center on party looks and night life, which is not to say that this collection was all about skin.
Sharp jackets made major points, topping corsets—and corset-like elements—and adding interest to skinny trousers.
Did you catch that glimmer around Binx’s eye there? The single-earring and eye-bling accessories were standout details, as were other styling choices like white shoes with black shoes—that wonderful ’80s non-taboo taboo.
Speaking of the ’80s: big, fluffy fur-lined coats felt both retro and modern, and a set of boldly hued embellished florals were the perfect foil to all that black.
