Almost immediately upon seeing the stunning embroidery and rich, vivid colors of Mumbai-born designer Naeem Khan’s spring collection, we were reminded of the much relied-upon Diana Vreeland trope, “Pink is the navy blue of India.”

An operatic soundtrack played loudly, as if it were rock and roll. When the actual pink came out—underscored by a pair of chunky wooden platforms and held up by a ropelike silver necklace—it had really started to feel like eveningwear and occasion dressing had a new, slightly wild lease on life.
Check out the pink number below, as well as a rainbow parade of multicolored and mono-hued gowns (plus a jumpsuit and a shorts set!). The red carpet is going to get punched up this spring.
