In a serene, Woodinville winery, Andrew and Keith tied the knot in a deeply personal ceremony, surrounded by their loved ones.
Andrew, tell us about the location.
I had visited JM Cellars a couple times previously for wine tasting but upon visiting with co-workers about a year and a half from what would be our wedding day, I knew this place was the perfect wedding venue. It reminded me of where I grew up in Lake Tapps, WA. Right away my co-workers said, “You have to get married here!” and before I knew it they had found the events staff for me to talk to.
Keith and I visited together a couple weeks later and secured the location prior to even being formally engaged! The irony is that Keith doesn’t really care for wine, but we were both so taken with the space that he overlooked that small detail. A sense of calm came over us as we walked the grounds and tasting room. It made us feel like we were spending the afternoon at a best friend’s house having a glass of wine—which was the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We wanted our friends and family to just have a fun, relaxing evening, with plenty to see and do.
What was the theme or inspiration for your wedding?
I was very wary of falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole, only to remerge hundreds of hours later with dozens of ideas that could potentially conflict with each other, so I stayed away from it. JM Cellars is truly a gorgeous venue, so much so that Keith and I felt it would be almost insulting to add a lot to it. We really let the venue shine as is: dozens of candles and strings of bistro lights, succulents and off-white runners down reclaimed wood farm tables. 
What special touches did you add?
September 9th holds great significance for us. Each year on our anniversary, we commemorate it with getting a photo in a photo booth. Keith proposed to me in a photo booth on our anniversary the year earlier, capturing each second of the proposal, so naturally it was a must for our wedding to have one. We started dating back in college at Washington State University on September 9, 2009. Keith proposed on September 9, 2016. And our wedding day was September 9, 2017.
Keith and I are both foodies and selected a favorite food truck to cater, Skillet. The menu included fried chicken sandwiches, cheese burgers, mac n’ cheese, and French fries. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we offered pies from A la Mode pies. We had them use “A’s” and “K’s” as the top crust of our cherry, French Apple, and peach pies.
The Saturday before our wedding we were at our neighborhood farmers market in West Seattle where we saw a poet typing up poems on the spot for those interested. We asked him to bring this experience to our reception and our guests were able to go home with custom poems that were written on the spot on vintage typewriters.
Who was in your wedding party?
My maid of honor, Jackie, is my best friend of 17 years. Keith’s best man, Erick, has been his best friend for eight years. We had about 95 guests total.
Tell us about your favorite moment.
We took a few minutes to be alone together right after the ceremony and soak it in. Just having all of our friends and family all together in one place at one time was especially wonderful. Through the planning and post-wedding process, we were so touched by the pure joy and happiness expressed not only friends and family, but even strangers!
The outfits! How did you both choose them?
We both came to the table with our separate style aesthetics, however we went through selection and styling together to ensure both looks were cohesive. Ultimately we wanted our looks to be timeless but still reflect our unique personalities. Everything was purchased, tailored and shined at Nordstrom. We worked with two stylists that we have worked with for a while. No matter how long you have worked with one it is important to have a level of trust.
My suit was Topman and tie by Calibrate. My shirt was by David Donahue and for the finishing touch, loafer slides by Gucci. Keith wore a Topman suit as well, with a Nordstrom Men’s Shop shirt and tie. His shoes were Allen Edmonds. 
Any advice for others planning their nuptials?
It is your wedding, so don’t get caught up in other’s advice or opinions too much. Your day should reflect you both and be exactly what you want it to be.
Where was/is the honeymoon?
We went to LA for a few days to relax and getaway right after the wedding—spending time by the pool with cocktails, dining at favorite restaurants, and of course a few days in Disneyland. Our true honeymoon is Europe in the Spring of 2018. We will be spending a few weeks visiting France, England and Italy.
