When it comes to wellness and beauty advice, blogger and podcaster Krista Williams always keeps it real. She demystifies the worlds of spirituality, health and well-being on The Hundred Blog and as the host of the the Almost 30 podcast, dishing out real talk like your most trusted BFF.
We could think of no one better than our personal lifestyle guru to guide us through the onslaught of beauty supplements available on the market. Williams graciously answered the call and invited us behind the scenes of her morning, revealing that the secret to her glow starts from the inside out. Below, Williams walks us through her morning routine with HUM Nutrition, her most trusted source for premium and clinically proven dietary supplements. You’re going to want to take notes.
The alarm goes off in the morning—what time is it?
Between 5:30 and 6am—I’m a morning person, for sure.
Teach us how.
I cherish my time in the morning—before anyone can reach me, before any responsibilities—and I feel like it’s the best time for me to connect with myself. How do I do it? I don’t drink caffeine, I try to eat dinner around 6pm and I save my workouts for the morning as to not overstimulate myself before bed. Evening meditation—for even just a few minutes—really helps set a relaxed mood so I can fall asleep and get quality rest.
Instead of forcing yourself to be a morning person, go with what your body naturally likes to do. Make time that’s quiet, devoted to yourself and free from distractions, whatever time it is!
What beauty essentials do you keep on your bedside?
I always make sure to moisturize and lather on as many creams and oils as possible—much to my boyfriend’s dismay; he’s less than enthused to sleep next to me when I’m so slippery. I keep Tata Harper Skincare Beautifying face oil, which I love for the natural, good-for-you ingredients, and Lancôme Visionnaire Nuit Beauty Sleep night moisturizing cream, which keeps my skin supple and hydrated. To moisturize my limbs, I keep Cocovit coconut oil nearby. I love how it smells! I also love to use Aveda Chakra 3 Balancing body mist, which is supposed to help to make you feel grounded and more connected—and for me, it totally does.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Put my hand over my heart and say thanks. Cliché, I know, but taking two deep breaths brings me back to being grateful for waking up, being healthy, for my morning time and the rest of the day. After that, I’ll scrape my tongue and oil pull with coconut oil before heading to the kitchen. Scraping your tongue is great for removing bad bacteria and helping with sugar cravings. Oil pulling is also good for oral hygiene, and I think it’s made my teeth whiter.
HUM Nutrition Turn Back Time, Arctic Repair, Collagen Love
What’s the first HUM Nutrition supplement you take and when do you take it?
I take most of my supplements right after my morning smoothie on a full stomach. I’ve got quite the stack: Collagen Love, Arctic Repair and Turn Back Time are three of my favorites. Collagen Love and Arctic Repair both plump and even-out my skin tone and help me combat wrinkles. Turn Back Time is my anti-aging supplement and helps protect me against harmful UV rays and heals my skin.

Washing my face is essential—I never skip it. I follow the Dermalogica system: Precleanse, followed by the Special cleansing gel or the Daily Superfoliant. To hydrate, I use Tata Harper’s Repairative moisturizer. It’s rich, but light enough to wear every day. Finally, I apply YSL Top Secrets BB cream. I love that it has a highlighter built in to brighten my complexion, and the texture doesn’t make my skin look too oily.
What is your holy grail HUM Nutrition item?
It’s so hard to pick just one because they all have different purposes in my routine. I like the Air Patrol when I travel (I am on a plane every other week) and the Moody Bird when it’s that time of the month, but lately I have been loving the Raw Beauty Powder because it’s chock full of probiotics and enzymes. I’ll mix it with water or almond milk to satisfy my sweet tooth.
How do you prepare the rest of your HUM Nutrition supplements on the go?
Inspired by my 90-year-old grandmother, I have all of my supplements in a pill case, or I’ll put them in a tiny little Dagne Dover pouch. Because I’ve been traveling so much, I keep Daily Cleanse and Flatter Me in my bag because they each help me assimilate to new foods and keep my digestion in check.
Coffee, tea, matcha?
MATCHA! I make mine with coconut milk, a little bit of stevia, coconut oil and collagen—it’s my favorite part of the day. The collagen and coconut oil make it frothy and thick and then it’s more satisfying with that good fat.
Morning meditation, workout or both?
Meditation always happens. I’ve been meditating for seven years and it’s had such a large impact on my life. It gives me space between thoughts and emotions and has helped me to really tap into the person who I want to be outside of any anxious feelings or emotional baggage. After that, I have a workout and lately, that’s barre, though I admit to often following trends when it comes to my workout. I am always trying the latest, greatest thing.
