Earlier this May, high in the San Bernardino Mountains near Lake Arrowhead, Jessica and Randy tied the knot at a romantic creekside cabin resort, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Tell us about the location.
We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains from the moment that Randy and I got engaged. The mountains and the outdoors were always our go-to while we were dating, and of course, Randy proposed in the mountains. We knew we wanted an outdoor, rustic-elegant wedding, and Pine Rose was the perfect venue. Hidden Creek at Pine Rose Cabins is a secluded venue surrounded by massive trees, with a beautiful creek that runs into a pond.
What was the theme or inspiration?
Our theme was rustic-elegant. We chose a venue where our guests would be surrounded by nature, and therefore, we wanted to go with the colors of nature. We used lots of greens and whites with hints of blush to correlate with the trees and surrounding nature. We wanted to have soft colors.
Tell us about your favorite moment.
Hands down, the ceremony was a special moment for us. There was a sense of comfort and peace knowing that we were standing in front of our family and friends to become husband and wife. I remember looking in Randy’s teary eyes thinking how lucky I am to marry my best friend and to have him by my side forever. Another special moment for us was when, during dancing, Randy and I stepped aside from the dance floor, walked to a place alone and just looked at all our friends and family from both sides, dancing together and having the best time. It was such a happy moment, knowing of all the love and support that surrounded us.
How did you know your dress was the one?
Oh, my beautiful dress! I chose the Hayley Paige Londyn gown. It was the first dress I tried on, and I fell in love with it instantly. I knew it was the one! The sweetheart neckline and layers of the dress made me feel like a true bride. However, you can’t just try on one wedding dress, right? So I tried on more dresses, but none of the dresses compared to that first gown. I purchased my Hayley Paige dress the same day, without hesitation. My stylist, MacKenzie, knew the vision I had—I loved my dress, but I wanted lace sleeves. She found a designer named Olivia who makes customized toppers, and the lace—fit, color and style—correlated with my gown perfectly. My whole wedding experience with Nordstrom Wedding Suite at Brea Mall was the best experience I could have had. Everyone was so incredibly nice, and my stylist had frequent communication with me. Everything was just easy!
Any tidbits you’d like to share about your bridesmaids’ dresses?
All the bridesmaids ordered Jenny Yoo dresses, and all of the dresses came in true to size and around the date that was quoted to us, without delay. You truly get the renowned Nordstrom customer service there. I knew I was in good hands!
Any advice for brides-to-be?
My advice for other brides is to stay organized and in constant communication with your vendors. Plan ahead, use Pinterest and make to-do lists—this will eliminate stress closer to the wedding day. Also know that there will always be an unavoidable hiccup or two. But keep in mind that, at the end of the day, you will be married to your partner, which makes all the stress worth it.
Where was the honeymoon?
We honeymooned in St. Lucia the day after our wedding. Our resort was Sandals Regency La Toc, and it was the most beautiful, relaxing and romantic experience.
